In this article, we are going to talk about one of the – if not the – best players in the world: Chloe Kelly. And we’re gonna try to find out where this girl gets so much strength and attitude from.

Well, in order to understand the weapons Chloe has, you have to go back to her origins. From the little I know about her, she once said that she grew up as the only girl among her brothers, and that they were the ones that taught her how to play football…
Well, as the third of a 3 brothers, I guess they taught her more than that..

I imagine growing up as the only girl, constantly being teased and tested by your own older siblings. I imagine the bulling in their games and their shame when including her in their group of friends..
I Imagine the jokes, the pressure she had to handle — in an era where the only worldwide known female footballer was Marta, and almost literally no one else. I Imagine that atmosphere, that scenario… and how it sculpted her aura (an aura no one else can reach by now..)
When I see that kind of background, it’s not hard for me to understand where she got that hard, stainless, iron-willed personality.
In addition to that, you have to consider the fact that she grew up in England ; a country built just for the best. And I’m not saying that just being born there makes you the best , but that -being placed at the heart of the machine – England is a country that will eat you alive – pleasantly- if you don’t stand out. And you have to stand out fast. (Something kind of similar to the Argentinian way…)
That’s why every Premier League team is known for scoring goals at the last minute: because they are taught that any chance, and every chance, must be taken. A pretty good example of that mindset is Chloe Kelly converting that penalty after missing one against Italy. She knows that sometimes IT IS allowed to fail.. but what IT IS NOT allowed at all is; to regret it.
It’s with those kinds of spontaneous actions (no pre-written script, no makeup, no fashion ) that she stands out as theEngland’s voice. For all the girls. And for all the boys.

Far behind, we can still hear the voice of Pink Floyd in their song Time: “Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.” ‘Cause that’s changing… changing by a youth that has assimilated R. Waters message AND because of box-breaking archetypes such as Chloe Kelly

How healthy it is for society to have these kinds of people who, though raised in flaming lava, manage to come through…
Conclusion:
I don’t know how much I’ve talked about technique in this article,
but what I do know is that, as a former supporter of the Spain Colombian women’s team,
I would love to see them facing this kind of rival.
And I know, that in order to beat them, you’ll need more than just Tiky-Taka
