Surprising.
That is the word to describe this World Cup… SO FAR.
First round:
Spain, Brazil, Switzerland drawing…
Germany, that was supposed to be going home soon, demolished its rival as (the no one guested) usual…
USA dismantiling Paraguayan defense

Lots of unexpected results… lots of low-ranked teams scoring against the Goliaths.
It might be that some coaches are decoding this well-structured, new-age (Guardiola at the head) type of coaching.
It might be that information runs so fast that anyone can replicate its tactics…
Or
Even worse…
It might be that the teams are saving the best for later…
It is no secret now that the new tactics and the surprises in football come at the last stages of the tournament… the wild cards, they call them.
The only thing I’m glad about in all of this is that I’ve found myself glued to the screen in every single match in this World Cup. SO FAR.
